Mercedes Benz- original vintage 1980s vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

These keyrings have  original vintage badges which we would date as having been produced in the 1980s which we have remounted onto new leather keyfobs as can be seen in the photos .

Just one keyring left – when this has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

We have just a few of these superb quality original badges which came to us from the leather works of Heath & Machin & Co. of Walsall which closed finally in the 1990s.

We have mounted the badges onto new keyfobs in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.

Heath & Machin made small leathergoods and keyrings and also mounted keyfob badges for other manufacturers most notably Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham .

Up until the 1980s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry which has now moved to The Far East.

The nickel plated badges are in vitreous enamel and are in new condition.

Mercedes Benz keyfob badges in the 1970s were generally solid badges but by the 1980s often had 3 perforated sections milled out of the badge like these examples which made them rather attractive and set them apart from other Mercedes Benz keyfob badges made before and since.

By the 1990s the badges had reverted back to being solid again.

Being hand made at the time – these badges have some very slight variation from badge to badge as regards the perforated sections within the badge – but you would need a very keen eye to detect it .

These badges are original & correct for use with any 1980s Mercedes Benz motor car – or could be used as a ‘retro’ keyring in a much later car.

We have become very well known for remounting original keyfob badges on to new leather keyfobs of the correct pattern like these.
