Trabant - original new old stock vintage keyring

Sorry – this keyring has now been sold but we have left it on view here in the shop so that others can see an example of an original Trabant keyring.

An original vintage Trabant keyring which will probably have been produced in the 1990 .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

We are a bit out of our depth with this keyring having never seen another example like it in the last 10 years. It could be one of the rarest keyrings we have ever offered !

A friend does have an original early 1960s Trabant which he is getting round to restore – but he is equally clueless as to the age of this keyring !

It is certainly new old stock and has an aluminium disc badge with painted ‘enamel’ mounted onto a rather thin genuine leather keyfob in donkey brown leather.

Curiously the stitching on the front of the fob is beige – whilst the stitching on the back of the fob is red – but it is the same stitching ! Maybe the stitching on the front has faded ?

Very much a utility keyring and exactly what would match a very utility vehicle like a Trabant.

We understand that around 3 million of these vehicles were produced between 1957 and 1990 but very much doubt that the same number of keyrings were also produced !

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
