A very difficult little item to put a date onto – and also to photograph !
If you know what a lapel badge is ( in other words you remember jackets with lapels with button holes ! ) you will have a bit of a clue.
In those far-off days when gentlemen wore jackets this little badge in the jacket lapel button hole would have been a subtle indication of the wearer’s preference in motor cars.
Nowadays that ‘gentleman’ is more likely to be wearing a ‘designer’ tee-shirt rudely shouting his car preference in garish colours.
The fact that this badge is in vitreous enamel indicates that it has some age – our guess would be late 1960s or early 1970s.
The stippled texture of the back of the badge is similar to that seen on many vitreous enamel badges of that time.
The badge is in mint condition and is tiny – measuring just 20mm ( 0.75″ ) in length.
The badge in the photographs is the actual one which you will receive.
