Albion - original late 1950s/early 1960s lapel badge

1 in stock

An original Albion lapel badge dating from the late 1950s or very early 1960s.

All those years ago drivers of these heavy goods vehicles were very proud of the brand of vehicle which they drove and often wore a lapel badge in their jacket lapel .

This also aided recognition of a driver of a similar vehicle in a transport cafe .

The badge is in very good condition with cobalt blue vitreous enamelling on gilt.

Albion’s motto was ‘Sure as the Sunrise’ with a stylised sunrise depicted on the badge.
Albion Motor Co. originally operated from Finnieston Street in Glasgow Scotland and became part of British Leyland in 1951 producing the famous Chieftain, Clydesdale and Reiver trucks and the Albion name was finally discontinued by British Leyland in 1972.
The lapel badge in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
