An original Alfa Romeo keyfob badge which will have been produced in the early 1970s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .
Just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
Prior to 1972 Alfa Romeo keyfob badges contained the word ‘Milano ‘ – so we know that this badge was produced after that .
Gilt badges like this one were generally produced in the 1960s and very early 1970s – so this badge is easy to date conclusively as early 1970s .
The vitreous enamel badge is actually in very good condition despite it’s aged appearance .
The original high gloss of the vitreous enamel has worn over the years to give a smooth matt appearance .
These gilt badges always tended to mellow in use as this one has done to give an attractive aged appearance which is now quite fashionable – customers increasingly seem to prefer a badge which looks to have covered some miles remounted onto a new leather keyfob so it can cover a few more !
The gilt plating on the back of the badge has darkened to a considerable degree and would doubtless polish up with metal polish – but we will leave that to the new owner .
It would be very difficult or probably impossible to artificially age a vitreous enamel badge to give this appearance – it’s patina is the product of many thousands of miles and many years of use .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given
