NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original early Alfa Romeo keyfob badge which we are offering remounted onto a new torpedo keyfob in black leather as can be seen in the photos.
This badge would originally have been mounted onto a torpedo keyfob.
This vitreous enamel badge dates from the late 1950s or very early 1960s and is in superb condition- early ‘Milano’ badges like this one do not come any better.
The badge was made by Castles Unit Development Co. of Leicester, England – their famous CUD mark is inscribed on the back of the badge.
Castles were the original automotive keyring manufacturer and the torpedo shaped keyfob was their invention.
At that time almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.
Time tells the truth in everything and the torpedo shape soon went out of favour and fashion being replaced by more modern ‘teardrop’ type shapes in the mid to late 1960s.
This keyring showcases what we are probably best at – providing an original 20th Century keyfob badge with a new leather keyfob so that it can continue in use well into the 21st Century.
Needless to say the back of the leather fob is not stamped with our brand as this is classed as a restored keyring.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/57 03/20
