Alfa Romeo – original vintage new old stock 1970s melsom keyring ( slight plating defect )

An original Alfa Romeo keyring which will have been produced in the early to mid 1970s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring is in new old stock condition and is a lovely item .

However very close inspection reveals a very small loss of nickel plating at the top of the left hand mounting leg of the badge and also slight losses elsewhere .

This can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos – but quite honestly is hardly noticeable at life size unless you are actually looking for it !

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .

This keyring was made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham – in the 1970s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England. It was quite an industry .

Alfa Romeo discontinued using ‘Milano’ on their badge in 1972 – so strictly speaking this keyring should date from 1972 or before then .

However we think that this keyring was produced just after 1972 and Melsom Products probably didn’t bother to change the badge on their keyrings as they went out of business very shortly after that .
