Aston Martin - original late 1960s/1970s enamel on gilt badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original Aston Martin keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1960s or 1970s which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This gilt Aston Martin keyfob badge is in excellent condition with solid black vitreous enamelling .

Made by Manhattan Products of Birmingham whose MP logo + crown is cast onto the back of the badge.

The gilt has mellowed ( as these old gilt badges always do ) to give a pleasing aged appearance which can only be achieved as a result of time and use.

The highly polished surface of the black vitreous enamel has micro scratches as a result of years of use which are only really apparent as the badge is tilted from side to side in the light.

Customers used to demand mint condition perfection – but this has diminished in recent years.

Many now much prefer a badge which has ‘ had a life’ and has the patina of years of use but without damage – as this one has.

Now remounted onto a new leather keyfob to allow it to be used for another 45 or 50 years if motoring as we know it lasts that long.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
