An important historical Aston Martin keyring – and the only one of it’s type which we have ever seen together with the badgemaker’s original artwork .

This keyring is in new old stock mint condition – it has never been issued.

The gilt plated vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine full grain black leather embossed ‘TOP GRAIN LEATHER ‘

Made by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who made almost all Aston Martin keyrings from the 1960s through to the early 2000s .

Manhattan Windsor’s inverted M over W logo is cast into the reverse of the badge.

The Aston Martin winged logo on the front of the badge must be one of the most intricate designs ever produced in vitreous enamel – the complexity of the individual segments of white enamel separated by tiny gilt plated metal strips is staggering.

Supplied together with this keyring will be the manufacturer’s original artwork which is dated 23rd August 1977 .

The artwork has been painstakingly produced in water colour by hand with the stippled gilt plated ground represented by tiny flecks of gold paint.

This artwork is sellotaped onto a small black card which is how Manhattan Windsor obviously filed their artwork.

We have seen other examples of their artwork for other keyfob badges and these little masterpieces are similarly sellotaped onto black card !

The artwork includes the vitreous enamel reference colour codes for the black & cream enamel used on the badge.

Apart from original Aston Martin torpedo keyrings – this is the most important & rare Aston Martin keyring which we have ever listed and is correct for placing with any Aston Martin motor car from the late 1970s including Aston Martin V8 & V8 Vantage/ Volante .
