We are not licensed by Aston Martin to reproduce the Aston Martin winged logo and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature Aston Martin keyfob badges which have been made by us.
The keyring in this listing is an original vintage keyring dating from the 1970s.
An original Aston Martin keyring dating from the 1970s .
This is a rare example of the actual keyrings which were produced for use with Aston Martin motor cars at the time.
We do currently have another example of this keyring listed in this website shop ( unless now sold ) – condition is everything and affects the value of a vintage keyring very heavily.
This keyring is in excellent condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine tan leather keyfob which has been embossed to resemble genuine pigskin.
The badge has ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ visible on the back – the badge perforations have been milled out of a solid badge which would have had ‘Manhattan Windsor – Made in England’ on the back.
Manhattan Windsor performed this milling on some of their badges which were perforated like these Aston Martin ones – this removed the necessity to have an additional die made for making these badges .
Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham made all Aston Martin keyrings in the 1960s and 1970s.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s Aston Martin did use genuine pigskin for some of it’s keyrings but obviously found that this was rather too expensive – so a genuine leather imitation pigskin was sometimes specified for later keyrings.
‘TOP GRAIN LEATHER’ is gold embossed into the back of the keyfob.
Original Aston Martin keyrings have now become valuable collector’s items – especially when in good condition and particularly with the interest generated by the new James Bond film which features an example of this keyring in the ‘taster video’ pictured together with Mr. Bond’s sunglasses.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
