Austin Healey – original vintage 1950s keyring – historic collector’s item

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original vintage Austin Healey keyring which will have been produced in the 1950s.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring may not look particularly spectacular but is probably the most historically important Austin Healey keyring which we have ever listed !

We have never seen another example over the last 10 + years .

This keyring is the very earliest Austin Healey keyring which we have ever seen with the flying Austin capital ‘A’ with the word ‘HEALEY’ almost added as an afterthought.

Austin had more or less phased their flying ‘A’ emblem out by the mid 1950s – we only ever see it on the very earliest Austin keyrings & keychains .

This keyring will have been produced for use with Austin Healey 100 and precedes the later vitreous enamel badge which was actually produced for use with Austin Healey 100 by several years.

Car keyrings only came into general use in the late 1950s & early 1960s – before then a few keychains and sundry items passing as ‘keyrings’ had been produced from the early 1950s onwards.

This keyring is a basic thing as these important keyrings often tend to be.

The main body of the keyring is in a hard rubber material textured to resemble leather and even with an imitation stitching line running around the edge of the keyfob.

The badge comprises a nickel plated metal oblong attached to the rubber keyfob .

Within this oblong is bonded a very thin metal ‘sticker’ with the flying ‘A’ & ‘HEALEY’ marked on it in an anodised finish .

One of the rarest keyrings which we have ever listed and the price reflects what we need to pay in order to put keyrings like this one into stock.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.  SMOSO   00/591   08/21
