Austin Mini - original early 1960s vitreous enamel gilt shield badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original Austin Mini keyfob badge which will have been produced in the early 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

The badge on this keyring is an original vitreous enamel badge which will have been made in the early 1960s by a firm known as Simons Concessionaires.

The badge does not have their name on the reverse but their badges were always made in this distinctive shield shape .

The badge is in very good condition although the red enamel in the top left hand corner is not as thick as that applied to the rest of the badge  – this is how it will have originally been made – these badges were individually hand made and the enamel was hand laid in those days with no 2 badges ever being quite the same .

This will have no effect whatsoever on the durability of the badge which has already lasted for almost a lifetime .

This badge is correct for use with 1961 onwards Austin Mini ( 1959-1961 Austin Minis were termed ‘Austin 7 ‘ with keyfobs being produced for Austin 7 accordingly )
