NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
What a superb keyring with an historic badge which could be used with any Bentley motor car .
The winged badge mounted onto the keyring is an original item dating from the early 1960s.
It came to us still mounted onto it’s original leather torpedo keyfob which was worn well beyond repair having covered many thousands of miles or even hundreds of thousands of miles over many years .
The nickel plated badge was still in very good condition with black vitreous enamel detail and some slight wear to the nickel plating which simply adds character to a badge of this age.
This badge will have traversed the length & breadth of Britain and probably continental Europe many times.
Just imagine those places which this badge will have accompanied it’s original owners to in their Bentley motor car 50 years ago …………………..
We have remounted the badge so that it can continue it’s travels onto a new torpedo keyfob in genuine tan pigskin as can be seen in the photos.
Pigskin was ( and is ) a luxurious material which was sometimes used for keyfobs in the 1960s – usually for prestige cars and Bentley was known to have had keyfobs produced in pigskin.
It was always expensive and was prized for it’s appearance and hard wearing durability which was ideal for keyfobs which receive a lot of handling.
Pigskin seems to be a thing of the past and no longer available in the grade needed for making keyfobs – the material which we use was sourced from a closed Midlands factory which had been using it for covering hip flasks and making wallets – and keyfobs – quite some time ago.
We have become very well know in recent years for remounting original badges onto new leather fobs of the correct pattern to enable the badge to continue in use.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/59 11/20
