BMC – original 1960s vitreous enamel on gilt badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original BMC keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

What a lovely badge !

The standard of enamelling in this badge is worthy of the crown jewels !

The jewellery grade vitreous enamel is hand laid into a gilt badge .

As usually happens with these old gilt badges – the gilt has mellowed to give a lovely muted golden glow giving an impression of age which just cannot be replicated by artificial means.

Absolutely superb.

Just compare this badge produced in a small Birmingham badgemaker’s workshop 50 years ago with the resin enamel badges produced on the other side of the world for sale in their thousands on internet auction sites today………………………..

We have lost so much which can never return.
