Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

BRM - original vintage late 1950s keyring - collector's item

This keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered but has been left on view so that those with an interest in BRM can see it.

An original vintage BRM keyring which will have been produced in the late 1950s.

Almost certainly one which would have been issued ( most probably by Raymond Mays personally ) with a vehicle bought from Raymond May’s garage in Bourne in Lincolnshire.

It is only the 2nd example of its type ( and the only one with a pigskin leather keyfob ) which we have ever seen and we would not think that many more like it will have survived.

Condition of the keyring is excellent with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in black pigskin leather .

Pigskin was occasionally used at the time for keyrings for prestige cars such as Aston Martin & Jaguar .

It was ( and is !) a luxury material much prized for it’s appearance and durability .

It says much of Raymond Mays that he was prepared to pay the extra premium to have keyrings made of pigskin leather for issuing with cars sold from his garage .

In buying this keyring you are buying a little piece of British Motor Racing history which will never be repeated.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

The original autographed photo of Raymond Mays together with a couple of his race mechanics is not for sale . 00/941     02/21
