Production of the Lotus 7 ended in 1972 & Caterham bought the rights to the car in 1973 & production started.
We have received these original gilt plated vitreous enamel ( all modern Caterham badges are soft resin enamel ) badges which we think date from the late 1970s or very early 1980s.
The maker’s mark on the back of the badges (CAXTON of KEW ) gives a good indication of the date – Caxtons have been closed for business for a very long time.
The quality of manufacture of these badges was variable to say the least – and we will only offer the very best examples of these original badges here.
The rest have been purchased by others and will doubtless crop up at autojumbles and on internet auction sites .
The badges are lightly made and relatively thin – as befits the Caterham Super 7 – and we have therefore chosen to offer them mounted onto our slimline teardrop keyfob shape as shown in the photos .
Most popular leather colours which have been ordered so far are black and British Racing Green – but you can order whatever colour you like.
