Cobra - original 1960s melsom black background badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original vitreous enamel badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Just this one original vitreous enamel Cobra keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s.

The badge is in excellent condition apart from a speck of bright nickel plating missing from the right hand mounting leg of the badge as can be seen in the enlarged high resolution photos  – this is hardly noticeable when viewed at life size with the naked eye.

A small portion of nickel plating is also missing from the edge of the back of the badge but this can only be seen when the badge is flipped up from the leather keyfob.

The badge was made by the well known Melsom Products Ltd badgemaking and keyring manufacturing concern from Birmingham.

This badge was one of 2 Cobra badges which came to us from a closed leatherworks in The Midlands which used to mount Melsom’s badges onto leather keyfobs for them and we can only assume that these badges were never mounted onto leather keyfobs at the time .

We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather .
