Just this one example of this rare Daimler keyring to offer.
This is an original new old stock keyring dating from the very late 1960s or very early 1970s.
The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a genuine leather keyfob.
The keyring was made by Castles Unit Developments of Castle Gate, Leicester – their famous CUD mark is on the back of the badge.
Castles were of course famous for producing their superb range of torpedo shaped keyrings in the 1960s – but by the very late 1960s the deficiency of the torpedo design ( the keyring had a splitring fitted through an eyelet in the keyfob which meant that the keyring did not hang well with the ignition key in the ignition ) was leading to plummeting sales.
In a final desperate attempt to up-date their products, Castles started to make ‘conventional’ keyrings as we still know them today like this one.
All rather too late as other firms had taken over – so this will be one of the very last Daimler keyrings ever made by Castles.
New old stock – so in mint condition – and an important historical Daimler keyring – very few will have been made like this one and it is the only one which we have ever seen & offered.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will cancel.
