We are not licensed by Ferrari to reproduce any of their logos and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature Ferrari keyfob badges which have been made by us.
The keyring in this listing is an original vintage keyring which we would think dates from the 1980s.
This original Ferrari keyring is an original vintage item which we would think dates from the 1980s and is in excellent condition.
The condition of this keyring is exactly how we like to find a 30 + year old keyring – with a pristine condition vitreous enamel badge and mellowed leather keyfob showing the patination of 30 years of careful use .
Most examples after all that time have chipped enamel badges and deep indents etc in the leather keyfob.
The enamel badge is unmarked whilst the tan leather has acquired that depth of colour which only the passage of time and careful use impart.
This particular design of keyring was supplied by Ferrari over quite a long period of time – possibly from as early as the very early 1970s right through into the present century.
The keyring was made for Ferrari by Cuoio Schedoni Modena in Italy.
Schedoni’s relationship with Ferrari began in the 1970s supplying leather interiors and custom fitted leather luggage sets.
The earlier keyrings did have distinct differences from the later ones.
These early keyrings had properly burnished & polished leather edges whilst the later keyring edges were simply cropped and stained.
The links connected to the splitring are totally different – these earlier keyring links are much more delicate and in nickel plate rather than chrome plate .
To illustrate this – the final 2 listing photos show the actual keyring in this listing photographed next to a new 21st Century Ferrari keyring – the one on offer in this listing is shown on the right hand side with the delicate metal link compared to the rather bulbous heavy link now provided .
Original vintage Ferrari keyrings are becoming scarce – particularly in this excellent condition.
The price reflects what we have to pay in order to put one like this one into stock.
There have been examples recently of original Ferrari badges & keyrings in very poor condition fetching very high prices on internet auction sites.
We constantly strive to be able to offer original Ferrari keyrings and remounted examples of original Ferrari keyring badges- but sourcing good examples of badges and keyrings at sensible prices is becoming almost impossible.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive- when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
