NOW SOLD – sorry these keyrings have now all been sold and can no longer be ordered
The keyring in this listing is an original keyring dating from the late 1950s or early 1960s.
We have just this one example left to offer of these original new old stock Ford blue oval torpedo keyrings which date from the late 1950s or early 1960s.
The keyring is new old stock so is in excellent condition.
The chrome plated oval badge has cobalt blue vitreous enamel detail and is mounted onto a genuine leather torpedo keyfob embossed ‘Real Morocco’.
Morocco was a term used for goatskin and the pebbly appearance of the leather confirms that this torpedo keyfob will be goatskin.
Made at the time by Castles Unit Development Co. of Castle Gate, Leicester ( CUD ) – they were the only manufacturers who made torpedo keyrings in this most distinctive torpedo shape. Castles may have then become ‘Craftsman’ towards the end of their short production life and it is rumoured ( but not as yet substantiated) that there could have been an American connection- in which case keyrings like these could then have been made in USA.
Castle’s automotive keyring products were exported all over the world – it was quite an industry at the time.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled 59/92 05/20
