REFERENCE ONLY – this keyring has now been sold but has been left on view as a rare example of an original Francis Barnett keyring
One for the serious Francis Barnett devotee !
An original Francis Barnett keyring – and the only one which we have ever seen over the last 10 years in genuine pigskin.
This keyring is original & correct for any late 1950s or early 1960s Francis Barnett motorcycle including early 1960s Cruiser twin, Fulmar & Plover up until 1966 when the works closed.
The keyring is in good used condition and will date from the late 1950s.
Made by Sculthorps of London who made many keyrings for motorcycles at the time.
The vitreous enamel badge is in excellent condition and is mounted onto a genuine tan pigskin keyfob which has taken on a polished appearance as a result of much use.
Pigskin was ( and is ) a most upmarket material and rarely used for keyfobs apart from occasional keyrings commissioned by Aston Martin.
There is a small hole which has been pierced through the pigskin keyfob – we sometimes see this with vintage keyrings and assume that at some time the keyring has been in a collection and pinned in a display cabinet or whatever !
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive- and is probably the most important Francis Barnett keyring which we have ever listed.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/54 06/20
