NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
This has to be the very nicest and most interesting keyrings which we have ever offered for a Hillman motor car and the only one of its type that we have ever seen.
The photos are worth 1000 written words – and it can be seen that there is an internal panel which can be pulled down from within the main body of the keyring to reveal a celluloid panel on which the owner of the vehicle could record the details of the vehicle.
The cherry on this particular cake is that the keyring was made by Castles Unit Developments of Castle Gate in Leicester UK ! Their famous CUD logo is on the back of the badge.
Castles was the most respected manufacturer of keyrings in the late 1950s and 1960s.
The keyring is in excellent condition and the genuine leather kefob is gold embossed ‘Real Morocco’ – which we understand to have been goatskin leather. Certainly the fine pebbly texture of the leather would suggest goatskin.
How many more of these have survived ? Probably almost none.
If this keyring had a badge on it which related to a classic car which I owned – then it would most certainly not be listed here for sale !
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold then this listing will cancel. 59/92 03/20
