Honda motorcycle – original late 1960s/ very early 1970s CUD vinyl insert badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Honda keyfob badge which will have been produced in the very late 1960s or very early 1970s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This original keyfob badge is in excellent condition and we have remounted it onto a new keyfob in black saddlery hide .

The badge comprises a vinyl insert within a plated metal mount .

These vinyl insert badges have lasted over the years extremely well and were particularly relevant for motorcycle keyrings .

The more traditional vitreous enamel keyfob badges have always been rather fragile when used on open motorcycles in all weathers – they are very prone to chipping ( or worse ) if dropped onto a hard surface or swinging about in the wind in a motorcycle ignition .

The badge was made by CUD ( Castles Unit Development Co. of Leicester )

CUD are very well known for having produced the famous ‘torpedo’ keyrings for cars a few years earlier – these are now valuable collector’s items particularly if they represent a prestige car such as Jaguar or Aston Martin  .

This particular Honda keyfob badge is very easy to date as CUD only made vinyl insert badges in the very late 1960s before closing for business in the very early 1970s .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive . SMOSO  00/56   08/23
