We have just 3 examples to offer of these original vintage new old stock Honda keyrings which will have been produced in the 1960s.
We did recently list and sell 3 very similar keyrings which had a different leather keyfob – these are in smooth tan leather whilst the others were in a ‘vintage’ grain tan leather.
The keyrings are new old stock and are in mint condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a thin genuine tan leather keyfob- these keyrings really are superb !
The keyfobs are in a leather which is of a lighter thickness than we tend to use – which is befitting of a light keyring intended for use on a motorcycle and the leather is in a high gloss finish ( which looks rather plasticky – but is actually leather ) This is probably waterproof to a degree for use on an open motorcycle in all weathers.
Produced at the time in Birmingham by AE Wassell badgemakers who specialised in making keyrings for motor cycles.
Original Honda keyrings from the 1960s are very rare items to find complete with their leather keyfobs intact – over the last 10 years we have had very few original examples to offer let alone ones in this mint condition !
We can only assume that Honda keyrings in the 1960s received the same level of use & abuse as the bikes themselves and for that reason very few intact keyrings have survived.
