Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

HWM – original vintage 1960s? keyring – collector’s item

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original HWM dealership keyring which we would think will date from the 1960s.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This original HWM dealership keyring is in fair condition considering it’s age with all the gold embossed information still intact and perfectly legible.

The keyring is in genuine black leather .

From the Walton-On-Thames telephone number we would think that the keyring dates from the 1960s but would stand corrected by anyone with detailed knowledge of Walton-On-Thames pre STD telephone numbers of course !

HWM ( Hersham & Walton Motors ) of Walton on Thames are a prestigious Aston Martin dealership which can trace it’s roots back to the late 1940s when it began building Jaguar racing cars.

In 1953 the Company began producing cars with modified Jaguar XK engines – some of these raced in Formula 2.

HWM also produced a Jaguar powered car for Formula 1.

Sadly one of the 2 partners – John Heath – died in 1956 in an HWM Jaguar as a result of an accident  during the Mille Miglia road race.

The other partner – George Abecassis gave up with the racing and concentrated on his expanding garage business which remains on the same site to this day.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and would be a very valuable addition to an Aston Martin , Daimler or Jaguar car known to have been supplied by the dealership at the time.

This is the only example of it’s type which we have ever seen & listed – and would not think that many similar examples will have survived.

When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.  SMOSO   00/59    10/21
