NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
We are not licensed by Jaguar Land Rover Ltd to reproduce any of the recent Jaguar logos and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature any of those logos. The keyring in this listing features an historic Jaguar keyfob badge logo from over 30 years ago and this keyring is intended to be used with classic Jaguar motor cars.
This badge in translucent green vitreous enamel is an exact copy of an original Jaguar keyfob badge which was produced at the time in Birmingham, and is copied from original examples which are held in our own reference collection.
We have now sold out of these badges and have just two keyrings with this badge to offer- the other one is listed here in this online shop as well unless now sold.
This badge is mounted onto one of our handmade & handstitched hinged torpedo keyfobs in burgundy ( dark tan ) leather.
Very occasionally we do have an original example to offer for sale – any currently available will be listed in the Jaguar section of our online shop.
The exact period of the original badges was rather a mystery – so we consulted with our resident expert – Bud Marston in Virginia USA. Bud is an authority on all things Jaguar and is has recently published his long awaited book – ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘.
Bud expertly avoided the question of the age of the badges – but declared that the Jaguar Leaper mascot is timeless and is appropriate for use with the entire range of Jaguars from the end of 1938 ( when the mascot was introduced ) right through to the present time.
The Jaguar Leaper is the most recognised symbol of Jaguar worldwide.
In that case we will have to date the badge ourselves. We consider it will have been produced in the 1980s and our guess would be that it was intended for use with Jaguar’s XJ-S & XJ40 range.
