NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
This is only the second example of this rare keyring which we have ever seen and listed over the last 10 years.
An original Jaguar E-type keyring which was produced in the 1970s and is a rare survivor of the keyrings which were actually used with the cars at the time.
This keyring is in very good condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a faux leather keyfob which is plainly gold embossed with the genuine leather symbol – but is not genuine leather !
We have seen this countless times on 1970s keyrings which were produced before modern trades descriptions legislation had grown teeth !
An example of this keyring is featured in Bud Marston’s ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘ book and Bud writes that “rarely do Jaguar Growler keyrings specifically tailored to the E-type appear “.
Bud considers that his example of this keyring could have been produced later than the 1970s – but we know from comparison with many other keyrings which we have seen with the same ‘leather symbol’ on a faux leather keyfob that this keyring does date from the 1970s and was made by the same manufacturer who was guilty of this practice when making keyrings for other marques as well.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/521 12/19
