Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Jaguar E-Type – original vintage 1970s USA export keyring – collector’s item

Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Jaguar keyring which will have been produced in the 1970s .

We have just this one example to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This is only the 2nd original example of this Jaguar E-Type keyring with the original ochre & black vitreous enamel badge which these keyrings were produced with that we have ever seen and listed over the last 12 years .

In that time period we have also received 3 loose badges which had lost their original leather keyfobs.

This is the export keyring which was produced for use with cars exported to USA .

This keyring is in really excellent condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather – a really superb item.

The vitreous enamelling is in ochre & black enamel – ochre was a very ‘1970s ‘ colour which many cars were finished in at the time .

‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ cast into the reverse of the badge – this keyring will have been made by one of the smaller concerns in Birmingham .

A couple of almost identical keyrings both with these original ochre & black vitreous enamel badges are featured in Bud Marston’s ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ book .

Bud says that these keyrings were among the earliest to feature the Jaguar leaper design and were produced in Birmingham in the early 1970s for cars bound for the American market .

One of the keyrings featured in Bud’s book was supplied with a V12 E-Type .

Bud is unsure whether these keyrings were provided with E-types shipped to USA or whether they were provided to American dealerships for issue with the cars .

He goes on to remark that the term ‘E-Type’ certainly sounded more exotic than ‘XKE’ which was the designation used for the North American market.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – an opportunity to acquire a superb example of an ultra-rare Jaguar keyring. SMOSO   00/056  03/22
