NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered.
An original Jaguar keyring dating from the 1960s but the keyfob is damaged meaning that this keyring is only suitable for placing in a collection rather than for using in a car.
This is an important historical item – and is listed because we know that many of our customers do buy these keyrings as collector’s items rather than to actually use in their cars.
We would not consider this keyring to be suitable for using in a car as the keyfob is in a delicate state as can be seen in the listing photos .
The silver border red growler vitreous enamel badge is in excellent condition and would look well remounted onto a new leather keyfob – which we considered doing and would still be happy to do at the listed price if that’s what you would like us to do – simply buy the keyring and let us know that you would like the badge remounting.
We will then remount the badge onto a slimline teardrop keyfob in full grain black leather and ship it to you complete with the dealer tag and the mortal remains of the original vinyl keyfob.
As it stands the badge is mounted onto the original tan vinyl keyfob which has significant splitting of the vinyl.
We have owned the keyring since August 2011 and it has been in our reference collection.
The original celluloid dealer tag is still attached to the keyring – Jack Ralph of Bournemouth England who were Rover & Austin main agents but obviously sold Jaguars as well.
Bud Marston shows and describes an identical keyring in his ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ book which is featured at the beginning of the Jaguar section in this website shop.
Bud describes it as an ‘all weather keyring ‘ ( being vinyl rather than leather ) which were generally produced without a maker’s mark and states that such keyrings are quite scarce.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/521 07/20
