Home / Online Shop / Jaguar – original late 1960s vitreous enamel ‘red growler’ badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob
NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Jaguar keyfob badge which will date from the late 1960s which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.
The vitreous enamel badge is in excellent condition although as with many 50 year old vitreous enamel badges the application of the enamel was a bit haphazard !
In those far off days the enamel was laid by hand and could often emerge from the firing kiln with an uneven ‘bobbly’ surface as is the case with this badge.
However – this is how they were – so this badge is an authentic example of an ‘economy’ Jaguar keyfob badge of the time.
Almost if not all examples will have been thrown away long since as they would have been mounted onto cheap keyfobs which soon wore out.
In that case this is a rare survivor and worthy of inclusion in a serious collection of Jaguar keyrings or indeed using as was originally intended in a Jaguar motor car of the period.
An example of this ‘red growler’ badge is shown & described in Bud Marston’s ‘Vintage Jaguar keyrings’ book which is featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section here in this website shop.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/57 04/20
