We are not licensed by Jaguar Land Rover Ltd to reproduce any of the recent Jaguar logos and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature any of those logos.
The keyrings in this listing are original keyrings dating from the late 1960s or very early 1970s.
We are fortunate to have just a few of these original new old stock Jaguar keyrings which date from the early 1970s – or possibly the late 1960s.
These are new old stock items – so are in mint condition having never been used.
The vitreous enamel badges are old-school vitreous enamel which was hand laid and rarely absolutely perfect – each badge is slightly different .
The badges are mounted onto keyfobs in genuine full grain black leather and were made by Sedan who were based in Bushey in Hertfordshire, England- their details are cast into the back of the badges.
We do wonder if the well known Melsom Products Ltd who were such prolific badgemakers and makers of automotive keyrings in the 1960s could have morphed into Sedan – as the badge layout is very similar to the format used by Melsom Products.
We have consulted with Bud Marston in Virginia USA about these keyrings ( Bud is the author of the ‘Vintage Jaguar keyrings’ book which is featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section )
Bud has seen examples of these keyrings and agrees with the date which we have set for them.
Although these keyrings were produced a few years later than the mainstay Jaguar keyrings of the late 1950s and early 1960s it is assumed that they would have been aimed at the same market……………there were still many, many thousands of Jaguar sports and saloon cars on the roads of Britain, USA and the rest of the world in the early 1970s – and yet to be classified as ‘classic cars’ as they have been today.
Finally we have to express our astonishment that an example of one of these very keyrings fetched £170.00 on ebay.co.uk in early March 2018 ! Not listed there by us we hasten to add !
The keyrings in the photos are some of the actual ones which you will receive – when they have all been sold this listing will cancel.
These must be the very last examples of ‘affordable’ vintage Jaguar keyrings – a classic case of ‘when they’ve gone they’ve gone.’
