Sorry – this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original vintage Jaguar ‘black growler’ keyring for Series 3 E-Type dating from 1971.
This keyring is new old stock and in mint condition.
We have seen very few examples of this keyring over the last 10 years and only 2 of these have been in mint condition – this is one of them.
The vitreous enamel on gilt badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan pigskin – one of the few Jaguar keyrings which we have ever seen produced in this most up-market of materials.
The keyring was made by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham whose logo appears on the back of the badge.
Aston Martin did use pigskin occasionally in the 1960s & 1970s for keyfobs – and these were also always made by Manhattan Windsor.
Bud Marston describes these Jaguar Series 3 black growler keyrings in his ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ book which is featured at the beginning of the Jaguar section in our website shop.
Bud states that this keyring was listed in 1971 by Jaguar in an interim parts list for the Series 3 E-Type under part no. 9036 as an optional extra to be supplied with the car.
These keyrings were made by Manhattan Windsor .
We have been informed that a similar keyring ( not in mint condition ) was listed on ebay by a vendor in Australia at a price of £450.
We do not know if this sold.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/572
