Individually Handmade Keyrings For Classic Vehicles Made Here In England & Shipped Worldwide

Jaguar - XJ6 & XJ12 - original new old stock vintage 1970s black enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

Just 2 of these badges left. When the next 2 keyrings have been ordered this listing will be cancelled .

We are not licensed by Jaguar Land Rover Ltd to reproduce any of the recent Jaguar logos and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature any of those logos.

The keyring in this listing features an historic original vintage Jaguar keyfob badge which was  manufactured over 40 years ago and this keyring with this badge mounted onto it is intended to be used with classic Jaguar XJ6 & XJ12 motor cars.

We are fortunate to have acquired a limited quantity of these original new old stock vintage keyfob badges in black vitreous enamel made by Manhattan Windsor Co. of Birmingham ( sadly now closed)

They were made in the 1970s and it is known that some were issued with the Jaguar XJ6 in the mid 1970s.

Mr.Roland Warting from Sweden has made contact to say that keyfobs with these enamel badges were listed in the Jaguar parts list for use with the Series II XJ6 ( 1974-79) The part no. was BD 38585.

Mr.Clifford Schulz from New York USA confirms the above but reports that it was also used as a general Jaguar keyfob at the time in USA – and was not just available from Jaguar themselves.

We are most grateful to these two authorities for the above information and also to Mr. Bud Marston from USA who has advised on many of our Jaguar keyrings- and advises that this keyfob badge was also used with the Jaguar XJ12.

In his book ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ which was published in autumn 2018 , Bud describes this badge as the ‘XJ Recessed Growler’ on account of how the growler depiction is recessed into the surface of the badge.

The iconic Jaguar ‘Growler’ mask is recessed into the enamel badge surrounded by a border of jet black vitreous enamel.
The enamel is as fresh and vibrant as the day it was fired almost 40 years ago.
Each badge has ‘Manhattan Windsor – made in England’ marked on the back.

We have had just a few examples of this badge in forest green enamel in the past and also one in dove grey and another one in red enamel.

This red enamel badge keyring has very recently been listed here in the website shop and can be seen ( unless now sold )

The dove grey one actually appears in Bud’s book – and is illustrated mounted onto one of our slimline teardrop keyfobs .

The black enamel badge in this listing is available mounted onto our teardrop, slimline teardrop or classic rectangular shaped leather keyfobs in any of the leather colours that we offer.

Original & correct for 1970s Jaguar XJ6 & XJ12.

When all the badges have been mounted and sold this listing will be cancelled.

Please note that keyrings with similar badges are listed elsewhere in our Jaguar section mounted onto red leather keyfobs ( unless now sold ) – but these do not have original Manhattan Windsor badges like the ones offered here.

Those badges appear identical but are not marked ‘Manhattan Windsor’ and we can only assume that they were made at a later date from the same die by others.

They are unlikely to have been made in the 1970s by Manhattan Windsor who have been closed for some time.
