NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
We are not licensed by Jaguar Land Rover Ltd to reproduce any of the recent Jaguar logos and none of the keyrings listed here for sale in this website shop feature any of those logos.
The keyring in this listing features an historic original vintage Jaguar keyfob badge which was manufactured around 50 years ago and this keyring with this badge mounted onto it is intended to be used with classic Jaguar motor cars.
This is an original Jaguar XK140 keyfob badge which we are able to offer remounted onto one of our slimline teardrop keyfobs in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.
We listed and sold a similar one ( also with slight damage ) some time back and now another one has surfaced.
We have had a few of these badges over the years and all have been remounted and sold – most had some slight damage like this one.
Viewed at life size this damage is not so noticeable – but it shows up well in the high resolution enlarged photos in the listing.
The badge is virtually perfect apart from some slight cosmetic damage to the surface of the translucent red vitreous enamel at 10 0’clock on the face of the badge .
This appears to a cosmetic defect – the enamel is sound and simply lacks pigment in the affected area so this will not affect the durabilty of the badge.
These Jaguar XK140 vitreous enamel badges were produced by the well respected Manhattan Windsor Co. in Birmingham – sadly now closed.
The back of each enamel badge is marked with the M over W Manhattan Windsor logo.
These badges were produced in the early 1960s – a few years after the XK140 cars themselves. At that time there would have been demand for a keyring to use with the cars because keyrings had suddenly become de-rigeur and a dedicated keyring had not originally been available at the time when the cars were in production.
Manhattan Windsor’s badge was based on the design of the grille badge fitted to these cars. For some reason very few of the badges were ever made up into keyrings – we received the badges in a box which had been in store at Manhattan Windsor since the early 1960s.
As with many 50 year old enamel badges – these badges are not as precise in execution as a modern soft enamel resin badge !
The badges are in very good serviceable condition although this one has the cosmetic damage already described.
This badge is 50 years old & looks every bit the part – which is part of its charm.
If you would prefer a modern XK140 badged keyring with a perfect plastic/resin badge – then there are usually plenty of repros to choose from on ebay !
Original 1960s retrospective period issue & correct for 1954 – 1957 Jaguar XK140.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
As a guide we did list and sell an original keyring for Jaguar XK140 with this exact badge some time back. This sold very quickly for a figure in excess of £500. 571/00 11/19
