Lancia – original vintage late 1950s leather keyring – collector’s item

An original Lancia keyring which we would think will have been produced in the late 1950s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This is only the 3rd example of one of these keyrings which we have ever listed over the years .

This particular one is in very good condition.

We did list & sell a new old stock example earlier this year and at that time doubted if another example in that condition would ever appear .

This one has appeared in this very good condition although it is not new old stock !

A small gilt plated vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto the main body of the keyring which is in genuine navy blue leather .

This is connected to the key clasp by means of a little leather strap as can be seen in the photos .

The metal keep on the strap is nickel plated .

The key clasp is nickel plated and opens to allow key(s) to be fitted by applying pressure to the clasp loop .

Hardly visible without a strong magnifying glass is the statement ‘ MADE IN ITALY ‘ on the key clasp loop .

Whilst this confirms that the keyring was made in Italy ( a country with a strong tradition of making small leather goods ) it also suggests that the keyring was made for the UK market as the statement is in English .

Very few manufacturers ever bothered to have their own keyrings made but Ferrari and Alfa Romeo both had their own keyrings made for issuing with new cars .

It may be that Lancia were also having their own keyrings made at the time – this possibly being an example .

Certainly a superb keyring to use with any Lancia of the period .
