Land Rover – original 1970s cobalt blue vitreous enamel Manhattan Windsor badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original vitreous enamel Land Rover keyfob badge which will have been produced over 40 years ago in the 1970s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

Just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Very little was produced in the 1960s & 1970s by way of badges for keyrings for the classic Land Rovers which were in use at the time.

Over the last 10 years we have come across very few original vitreous enamel Land Rover keyfob badges in good condition to remount onto new leather keyfobs.

This superb original cobalt blue vitreous enamel badge is actually only the 2nd example which we have seen and listed over the last 10 years – very few can originally have been produced .

The badge is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos.

It would be described as mint condition apart from the tiniest mark in the enamel at 2.30pm on the face of the badge – this can just about be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos but is hardly noticeable when viewed at life size with the naked eye.

On the edge of the badge is a minute overspill of the cobalt blue enamel ( see pic ) once again hardly noticeable – the vitreous enamel was still individually hand laid in the 1970s.

The badge was made by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham – probably the most famous keyfob badgemaker of them all – sadly they have now been closed for some years.

We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather and the badge is now ready for another 40 years of service if motoring as we know it today lasts that long. SMOSO  00/541   06/22
