Land Rover – scarce original 1990s new old stock ‘ Land Rover Assistance ‘ keyring with black vitreous enamel badge

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Land Rover keyring which will have been issued in the 1990s or very early 2000s

We have just this one keyring to offer  – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

The green oval badge is the badge which we all associate with Land Rover and is correct for almost all Series Land Rovers, 90s & 110 and all Defenders together with Discovery, Freelander and early 2000s Range Rover. . however this green oval badge is actually in black enamel as it was probably produced just as Land Rover changed the colour of the oval badge to black .

This is the only Manhattan Windsor keyring which we have listed with a black oval badge – they cannot have made many .

These Land Rover Assistance keyrings were the standard issue ( with green oval badges ) with new Land Rover vehicles in the 1990s & early 2000s – despite many thousands probably being issued at the time very few seem to have survived – particularly in this condition .

Probably because Land Rovers tended to be used as working vehicles at that time rather than as the luxurious vehicles which they have become nowadays.

Consequently the keyrings were used in working conditions like the vehicles themselves and keyrings like this one are now much sought after .

This keyring is in new old stock condition with a genuine jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine leather keyfob of generous thickness.

The ‘phone no. for Land Rover Assistance in the event of a breakdown is embossed on the reverse of the keyfob together with a no. for Autoglass for if the keyholder was unfortunate enough to need a new windscreen .

The machine stitching at the top of the keyfob and the area around the slot in the keyfob into which the badge mounting strap is fitted are a bit haphazard – perfectly serviceable but a bit untidy .

This can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

The ‘ stand-out ‘  part of this keyring is actually the rare black vitreous enamel badge .

If the purchaser would prefer that we remount the badge onto a new handcut and handstitched leather keyfob then we are happy to do that without making an extra charge – please let us know at the time of ordering by using the customer notes on the order form or by separate email .

The keyring was made by  Manhattan Products of Birmingham who made most Land Rover keyrings from the 1970s through to the early 2000s when they sadly closed .

Manhattan made the finest quality British automotive keyrings from the late 1970s onwards and their products were exported all over the world.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSO  00/521   02/24
