Maserati – original 1960s vitreous enamel keyfob badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob in tan pigskin leather

An original Maserati keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new pigskin leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

Just this one keyring to offer – when this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

A superb vitreous enamel Maserati keyfob badge which came to us still mounted onto it’s original leather keyfob but sadly that original keyfob was in a very worn condition so the badge had to be remounted onto a new keyfob .

The nickel plated badge has ‘MADE IN BRITAIN’ cast into the reverse ( how often do you read this statement nowadays ? ) – in the 1960s almost all automotive keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry .

We have listed several examples of this particular badge over the years and this one is the best example which we have ever listed .

We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in tan pigskin leather – pigskin leather was ( and is ) a luxurious material sometimes used for keyfobs ( usually for prestige cars ) in the 1960s.

It was always expensive and was prized for it’s appearance and hard wearing characteristics and was ideal for keyfobs which do receive a lot of handling .

Pigskin leather seems to be a thing of the past and very difficult to find in the grade needed for making keyfobs – the material which we have was sourced from a closed Midlands factory which had been using it for covering hip flasks and making wallets and keyrings .
