Mazda Cosmo – original vintage late 1960s keyring – collector’s item

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original vintage Mazda keyring which will have been produced in the late 1960s.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring really is something special – an original Mazda keyring which was produced in the late 1960s and is original & correct for use with 1967-1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S .

A very rare and valuable keyring .

Hardly any of these keyrings can ever have been produced – this is only the 2nd complete example which we have ever seen over the last 10 years apart from one loose badge which is also listed here in this website shop remounted onto a new keyfob ( unless now sold )

This keyring is in excellent condition with a jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather gold embossed on the reverse :- TREND Real Leather.

The keyring was made by a manufacturing business whose trademark was ‘Trend’ as can be seen embossed onto the back of the keyfob- we do see examples of their keyrings for other makes of car from time to time.

In the 1960s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.

Despite comprehensive research we have never discovered who Trend actually were !

Small enamelling businesses came & went rather rapidly in the 1960s – many were based in the Birmingham area which had a tradition of vitreous enamelling.

There may have been a tie-up with a badgemaker known as ‘Alexander’ – occasionally a badge marked ‘Alexander’ crops up mounted onto a ‘Trend’ leather keyfob.

A top quality British made item produced at a time when many items like this were becoming mass produced & very poorly finished .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.

When it has been sold then this listing will be cancelled. SMOSO  00/59  05/22
