This listing is to order the 1950s design octagonal MG badge mounted onto one of our torpedo keyfobs which would be correct for use in MGTD and also MGTF.
The one in the photos is in black leather which is what would have originally been most commonly used – but the keyfob can be ordered in any of our leather colours.
The very first keyrings for cars were produced in the mid 1950s and keyrings then came into general use in the very late 1950s .
The earliest keyrings were produced by Castles Unit Development Co. ( CUD ) who became famous for their trademark torpedo keyfob shape.
This was the keyfob shape which was in general use before the later teardrop & classic shapes came into being in the 1960s.
This torpedo keyring could be used in any 1950s MG motor car as many were originally used without keyrings ( as none were available at the time ) but were then usually ‘treated’ to a keyring as keyrings became available in the mid to late 1950s.
We have made these torpedos using this badge for quite a few customers who have requested them – so have now decided to introduce this as one of our regular keyrings .
