MG ( MGA ) – original 1960s vitreous enamel on gilt badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original MG keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

What a lovely original MG keyfob badge – and we have just this one example which we are offering mounted onto one of our slimline teardrop keyfobs in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.

This badge would have originally been mounted onto a similar leather keyfob and would have been used at the time in a car which would have been a daily driver .

Dating from the early 1960s – when there were plenty of MGAs in daily use on the roads .

The vitreous enamel badge is in mint condition with solid cream and translucent coppery gold enamel on gilt.

The coppery gold enamel has to be seen in the flesh to be believed – it shimmers like gold and it is difficult to believe that enamel finishes like this were in use over 50 years ago !

These gilt badges mellow over the years as this one has done . Whilst being in excellent condition it also looks its age- impossible to replicate artificially. Only the passage of years achieves this.

The badge dates from the late 1950s and just shouts M-G-A !

If I had a 1500 or 1600 MGA – this is the keyring which I would use.
