Monte Carlo Rally – original keyring dating from 1964 – collector’s item

An original Monte Carlo Rally keyring which will probably have been produced in 1964 .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

An original Monte Carlo Rally keyring which we have had in our reference collection since August 2013 and have just decided to list for sale.

The keyring is in very good condition with an enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .

This is the only example of one of these keyrings which we have ever seen & listed -so we would assume that it dates from 1964 as shown on the badge .

As to the entry number 37 as shown – we will leave you to do the legwork to discover which car had this entry number !

We have listed the keyring in our Austin Healey, Austin & Morris sections as we remember Austin Healey 3000s and Austin & Mini Coopers in the hands of famous rally drivers such as Paddy Hopkirk competing in the rally at the time.

The Rallye Monte Carlo was originated by Prince Albert in 1911 and was originally intended to promote Monaco as a tourist destination on the Mediterranean shore.

The event was organised each year by The Automobile Club de Monaco.
