Original vintage 1960s Henlys keyring - collector's item

NOW SOLD – Sorry – this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

This is an original vintage Henlys dealership keyring dating from the 1960s.

This keyring is in generally good condition – most have not survived in good condition.

The vitreous enamel badge does have some enamel chipping which can be seen in the enlarged photos. This is not immediately obvious when seen at life size and is mainly at the top edge of the top enamel segment. Almost all original Henlys badges on keyrings which have seen some use will have enamel chipping.

The price of this keyring does take the degree of enamel chipping into account.

The badge is mounted onto a peardrop shaped keyfob in genuine black leather which is in good overall condition with good tight stitching.

The badge does not have a maker’s mark on the back.

Henlys generally had their badges made by P.R.Bradbury or Fattorini – both in Birmingham.

Henlys  Jaguar / Rover  dealership was founded in 1947 by Herbert Henly. The original premises gave its name to Henlys Corner on the North Circular Road in London and also Henlys Roundabout in Hounslow.

Goodness knows how many Jaguar cars will have passed through the dealership in the 1950s and 1960s.

This original Henlys dealership keyring will be a subtle & correct addition to any Jaguar vehicle from the time and we cannot think of a better ( or cheaper ) addition which would give the same impact.

On a cautionary note – we have recently been shown a ‘Henlys keyring’ bought from an online auction site. This was a very passable reproduction although the ‘St. Christopher’ lettering was not as precise as the originals.

The enamelling was in modern ‘hard’ enamel which is resin based – not in vitreous enamel like the badge on this keyring.

We have no plans to offer a reproduction Henlys keyring – the name is subject to licensing restrictions.

Any Henlys keyring which is offered by us will be an original keyring dating from the period.

The keyring in the photos is the actual keyring which you will receive. When it has been sold – this listing will cancel. 00/011
