NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
We have just this one example of this original new old stock HWM dealership keyring to offer which we would date as having been produced in the 1970s.
Made at that time by Caxton of Kew – Caxton’s have been closed for many years.
This is the only early example of an HWM dealership keyring which we have ever seen ( We have seen later ones )
It is new old stock – so in brand new condition – with a vitreous enamel badge .
HWM ( Hersham & Walton Motors ) of Walton on Thames are a prestigious Aston Martin dealership which can trace it’s roots back to the late 1940s when it began building Jaguar racing cars.
In 1953 the Company began producing cars with modified Jaguar XK engines – some of these raced in Formula 2.
HWM also produced a Jaguar powered car for Formula 1.
Sadly one of the 2 partners – John Heath – died in 1956 in an HWM Jaguar as a result of an accident during the Mille Miglia road race.
The other partner – George Abecassis gave up with the racing and concentrated on his expanding garage business which remains on the same site to this day.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. When it has been sold this listing will cancel.
If the value of HWM keyrings continues to rise like original examples of Coombs or Henlys Jaguar dealership keyrings – then goodness knows where values will end up 00/521
