Porsche – original 1990s vitreous enamel Porsche ‘Heubach’ crest badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original vitreous enamel Porsche crest keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1990s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Original Porsche crest badge keyrings with the vitreous enamel badge hinged onto a genuine leather keyfob with a little leather strap have now become very sought after and valuable particularly if in excellent condition .

Please do not confuse these hinged badge keyrings with the modern Porsche keyrings with the badge bonded ( not hinged ) onto the surface of the keyfob .

The badge mounted onto this keyfob is an original 25 + year old hinged badge but the original leather keyfob was in a damaged condition so we have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather in exactly the same style – the Porsche shield keyfob with the characteristic internal plumping – just like the originals .

The vitreous enamel badge is in really excellent condition apart from the ‘whiff’ of gilt plating originally applied having rubbed off to reveal the bright nickel finish beneath- this almost always happens unless the keyring is in mint unused condition .

More importantly the vitreous enamelling is absolutely perfect – not the slightest scratch or enamel chip .

The keyring is this listing would be the ideal candidate for everyday use as mint condition unused Porsche crest keyrings have now become rather too valuable for everyday use.

It is difficult to date these badges exactly as they had a long period of issue but we are advised by one of our customers in Germany that examples like this one will most probably date from the 1990s – we are grateful for his input.

Over the last 3 years the price of classic Porsche motor cars has risen before finally levelling out -this has been reflected in the demand for original keyrings and original badges like the one mounted to this keyfob to accompany those cars.

It has now become very difficult for us to obtain original badges in good condition like the one mounted onto this keyfob – our aim is to usually have at least one remounted example on offer in this website shop .

Almost all those badges offered to us will have a degree of damage after over 25 years of use.

Even damaged examples being offered on internet auction sites are now selling for relatively high prices.
