Porsche - original late 1960s acrylic badge remounted onto new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

Porsche keyrings were in short supply in the 1960s – very few were available and the cars were generally used without keyrings.

At that time almost all automotive keyrings were made in England – it was quite an industry – and the main manufacturers concentrated on making keyrings for what they considered to be the main makes of car where owners were likely to buy keyrings.

Examples of Porsche cars were relatively rare on the roads of Britain at that time ( in comparison to Jaguars, MGs etc ) and were consequently neglected by the keyring manufacturers .

This was all long before Porsche produced their own keyrings .

At that time Castles Unit Developments ( CUD ) of Leicester produced a few torpedo keyrings for Porsche ( we have only ever seen a couple ) and Alexander badgemakers also produced a few together with one or two other small manufacturers – one of which was Renamel of Kilburn High Road London.

Very few of these original keyrings produced by these manufacturers have survived to the present day.

Renamel were known for small quantity production of quality keyrings and the badge which we have remounted onto this keyfob was produced by Renamel at the time.

The badge is in really excellent condition with an acrylic dome bonded into a plated metal mount.

This is only the 2nd example which we have ever seen and in by far the best condition even though the keyfob that it was mounted onto was well beyond repair.

In that case we are offering the badge remounted onto a keyfob of exactly the same pattern in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos.

We have become very well known for remounting original 20th Century badges onto new leather keyfobs of the correct pattern so that the badge can continue in use well into the 21st Century.

This badge is original & correct for use with any late 1960s or early 1970s Porsche motor car and this keyring is an absolute gem- it is just how these keyrings were 50 years ago.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.

When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.  00/571        01/20
