Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Porsche – original late 1960s/ early 1970s ‘British Made’ vitreous enamel badge with flaws remounted inlaid into a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Porsche keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s which we have remounted inlaid into a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

Just this one keyring to offer with this inlaid badge – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Original circa 50 year old vitreous enamel Porsche keyfob badges like this one hardly ever appear still complete with their original keyfobs after all these years .

Porsche cars tended to be driven and accordingly the keyrings received a lot of use with the leather keyfobs eventually wearing out over the years.

We have only ever seen & listed 2 or 3 complete original vintage 1960s/1970s examples of Porsche keyrings still with their original leather keyfobs .

Over the last 2 years original Porsche keyrings & badges have shot up in value as visitors to this Porsche keyring section will be well aware.

The badge inlaid into this new leather keyfob is an original late 1960s/ early 1970s vitreous enamel Porsche keyfob badge in fair condition but with some flaws :-

There are several chips in the vitreous enamel and there is some wear to the nickel plating – all of this can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos but the overall appearance of the badge when viewed at lifesize with the naked eye is good .

Originally this badge would have been attached to it’s leather keyfob by means of a thin leather strap which would have fitted through a metal loop on top of the badge .

When we received the badge this metal loop had already been removed – so we had no option but to bond the badge to an oversize brass baseplate and then inlay the badge into a new leather keyfob in full grain black leather .

The final listing photo shows the back of the badge with ‘BRITISH MADE’ cast into it before we inlaid it into the new leather keyfob .

In the 1960s & 1970s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were produced in England ( it was quite an industry ) but with Porsche cars being rare on British roads at that time hardly any British manufacturers bothered to make Porsche keyrings .

Those few that did bother didn’t make them in large numbers.

It was much later before Porsche began to have their own keyrings produced in Germany.

This badge is original & correct for use with any mid 1960s to mid 1970s Porsche motor car – and now mounted inlaid into a new leather keyfob and available at a price very significantly lower than an equivalent remounted badge in mint condition .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive . SMOSO  00/59   11/22
