Individually Handmade Keyrings For Classic Vehicles Made Here In England & Shipped Worldwide

Porsche - original vintage late 1960s/early 1970s enamel crest keyring - collector's item ( loss of plating from back of badge )

NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

We go to extraordinary lengths to secure keyrings like this one to list here in our website shop- and those few that we do find are rarely perfect .

This keyring was made in England at the time -in the 1960s and early 1970s most keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.

On the back of the badge is proudly cast ‘British Made- how often do we hear that dated statement nowadays ?

It was only in the 1980s & 1990s that Porsche began to have their own keyrings made in Germany and then later in China.

The keyring in this listing is in good condition apart from the nickel plating on the back of the badge – much of this has disappeared but this can only be seen when the badge is flipped up off the keyfob of course.

The vitreous enamel badge has the top strip of the crest represented in white enamel – which is correct for the earlier pre 1973 cars.

We have discussed the dating of this white enamel strip with Kevin Morfett of Historika and he confirms that the white strip disappeared in 1973 coinciding with the appearance of the first impact bumper cars.

The keyfob is in a particularly high gloss grade of faux leather .

Where the faux leather is doubled over to accomodate the splitring there is a small split in the faux leather.

This is unlikely to get worse if the keyring is regarded as a rare collector’s item rather than as a keyring to be put into everyday use.

This keyring is a very rare surviving example of what was actually being used in the cars at the time .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.

Our listing price simply reflects what we have to pay for a keyring like this in order to put it into stock .

Values of the late 1960s and early 1970s cars have increased very substantially over the last 3 years and the values of genuine original Porsche keyrings and the demand for them has increased accordingly – particularly when the value of some of the 911s which this keyring is correct for ( 2.7 911RS etc ) are taken into consideration.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will cancel. 00/572  ( 00/062 accepted)   12/19
