NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
We have just this one example of this original new old stock Porsche keyring to offer- one of only a very few similar examples which we have ever seen.
Original Porsche keyrings dating from the 1960s and early 1970s are very rare items – very few were originally produced and even fewer have survived particularly in this condition.
Condition is mint – this keyring is new old stock which has not seen the light of day for around 50 years .
The nickel plated badge has vitreous enamel detail in yellow, black & red enamel.
The badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .
We have seen these keyrings with red keyfobs and tan keyfobs as well as this one in black leather .
This keyring is an easy item to date because we have seen a couple of these Porsche badges mounted onto keyrings with vinyl keyfobs.
Vinyl was quite commonly used for keyfobs in the mid 1960s but by the mid 1970s it’s use for keyfobs had disappeared completely.
These vitreous enamel badges will have been produced by one particular manufacturer in England whose identity remains a mystery – at that time almost all keyrings for British, European & American cars were made in Birmingham – it was quite an industry with many manufacturers almost all of whom have disappeared without trace.
It was not until the late 1970s that Porsche began to have its own keyrings produced with the familiar Porsche crest which we recognise on their keyrings to this day.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and is original & correct for use with any Porsche motor car from the 1960s or very early 1970s.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled. 00/571 11/20
