Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Renault - original new old stock late 1960s/ early 1970s melsom badge inlaid into a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry these keyrings have now been sold and can no longer be ordered .

Original vitreous enamel Renault badges which will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s which we have inlaid into new leather keyfobs as can be seen in the photos.

Just this one keyring remaining which has very slight tarnishing to the chrome plating at the edge of the badge at 11 o’clock on the face of the badge – this can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos – hence reduced in price .

A few of the badges which were used in these keyrings are being offered for sale loose in another listing ( unless now all sold )

We have just this one keyring left to offer with this badge inlaid into a new keyfob in black hide as shown in the photos.

These vitreous enamel badges were made by Melsom Products of Birmingham UK  in the 1970s.

Some badges which they made would have had a metal loop on the top of the badge to allow the badge to be mounted onto a keyfob by means of a leather hinge.

Others ( like these) were manufactured without a loop and would probably have been intended to be inlaid into the top of a gear lever knob.

The badges in their original 1970s sales packaging are shown in the photos.

We have adapted these badges to inlay into our keyfobs by means of removing the original adhesive and soldering an oversized brass plate to the base of each badge and then laminating the baseplate within the keyfob. No chance of the badge ever falling out !

The leather keyfobs are then bonded rather than being stitched .

The result is a contemporary styled keyring with a difference featuring an original badge which can be used for any Renault car. SMOSO  59/71   07/23
